We Now Return You to Your Regularly Scheduled Program...

I was asked today what was my favorite TV show was and I honestly didn't know. I use to have TV shows I watched on a regular basis. I never missed ER or Seinfeld and I rather enjoyed watching TV. But somewhere I lost control of the remote and my choice of programs. I think it happened around two years ago when Tyler was born. When my twins were born there was the standard Barney, Sesame Street and Teletubbies but now there is a whole new breed to shows to watch.

The Office, 30 Rock, Brothers and Sisters, Mad Men, Grey's Anatomy, these are all shows I have heard of but have never seen. People must think I live in a jar. My television watching habits have been taken over by my three boys and these shows are not on their play lists. I couldn't even tell you what these shows are about let alone anyone who plays in them. I don't even know what day or channel they are on. I am officially out of the loop on current adult TV shows.

Now ask me who Pinky Dinky Doo is an I am all over it. I can sing the theme songs to all the Disney Channel shows and I have memorized the schedules of Nick Jr. AND Cartoon Network. I know Chinese and Spanish courtesy of Kai-Lan and Dora the Explorer and Diego has taught me all I want to know about the maroset monkeys. I know all the rainbow colored Blue's Clues friends (Periwinkle, Magenta, Marmalade and Green Puppy). And I think I even had a crush on Steve at one time although that could have been when I was sleep deprived.

I could go on and on but I won't. Kids change your life in many ways including the shows you end up watching. Really I don't mind watching kid shows. It makes me feel like a kid still sometimes. There will be plenty of time to watch "adult" shows when the kids are older, so until then I will eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and sit with my favorite TV watchers and talk some 'toons while most of my friends are drooling over McSteamy :)
